Description

1. Introduction of Dioctyl Terephthalate

Dioctyl terephthalate (DOTP) is an organic compound with the molecular formula C24H38O4. Transparent oily liquid, insoluble in water, soluble in general organic solvents [1]. Dioctyl terephthalate is an excellent main plasticizer for polyvinyl chloride (PVC). Compared with the commonly used diisooctyl phthalate (DOP), it has the advantages of heat resistance, cold resistance, volatilization resistance, extraction resistance, softness and electrical insulation, etc., showing excellent durability, soapy water resistance and low softness in the products.
